MaMoGi is an All Star powerhouse band that combines progressive rock, electronic, and jazz music to create a unique sound that consistently leaves audiences wanting more. The band features prodigy bassist Mohini Dey, superstar saxophonist Mark Hartsuch, and the incredible Gino Banks.
Mohini Dey, at only 26 years old, has already had a remarkable career in the music industry, working with artists like AR Rahman, Jordan Rudes, Simon Phillips, Steve Vai, Guthrie Govan, Mike Stern, Dave Weckl, Zakir Hussain, and many more international artists. She has been featured as one of the top 10 bass players in Music Radar magazine, with over 50 million views collectively across her content on social media platforms like Facebook, Youtube, and Instagram.
Mark Hartsuch, the band's saxophonist, has worked with a variety of notable artists, including AR Rahman, Hariharan, Udit Narayan, Ranjit Barot, Louiz Banks, Marvin "Smitty" Smith, Marco Minneman, and Gergo Borlai, among others. Similarly, drummer Gino Banks has worked with his father, Louiz Banks, as well as Ustad Zakir Hussain, U. Srinivas, A.R. Rahman, Mike Stern, Guthrie Govan, George Brooks, Leni Stern, and more.
Together, the MaMoGi trio is a testament to the idea that "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts." They take their individual talents and pool them together on a cooperative basis to create music that is truly collaborative. This can be heard in the tightness of their groove and seen in the energy radiating from the stage during their performances.
MaMoGi has performed an 8 city India tour and has also been featured at music festivals such as the Timisoara Jazz Festival in Romania. The band is proof that instrumental music can be just as dance-worthy as any other genre.
